shipped different item Feb 17, 2010 The product pictured and what I ordered were not what the company shipped me. I ordered based on the brand, Brita, and they shipped a Whirlpool brand.
Do not order this if you really want a Brita filter - they might send you something else Feb 02, 2010
I ordered this because my wife can really tell the difference if I have the wrong filter in there. Instead of sending me the Brita, they sent me a Whirlpool 4396508 filter, which is NOT what I wanted.
When I complained, I received this email:
We only sell the aftermarket, made by Whirlpool, of this part. We do reference this before you place the order:
$27.99 + $4.99shipping New
However, if you wish to return it for a refund, please use the RMA below:
Funny, I thought that the Brita filter WAS the aftermarket item. In order to return it, I have to pay shipping. They USED to sell the Brita filter, because I have purchased one from them before. In any case, if they don't sell the item then perhaps they should be more clear about the fact that they only sell the aftermarket version of the aftermarket item that you think you are ordering.
Just Not The Same Jan 22, 2010 Installed just like the original. OK for the first month or so. Then the water started to taste "slimy". Fix the problem by installing an original from sears.
Better than Home Depot's filters. Jan 01, 2010 An excellent replacement water filter. I live in San Diego and the water here is terrible. We use our refrigerator water as a cheap alternative to bottled water. This filter greatly outperforms the filters we were buying at Home Depot. The Home Depot filters left the water tasting very alkaline, this filter works much better and leaves the water more neutral.
Taste great works great on Whirlpool GD25DF Dec 03, 2009 Works great with the Whirlpool GD25DF Side by Side. After the initial clear process (drain it well), good clean taste.
