 ok shoes Jul 19, 2010
these shoes lasted for 5 months then the black plastic skin started separating from the shoe making bubbles. my last pair were good for about a year then were not comfortable after that. but both shoes were comfortable to wear, they just were falling apart so i could not wear them at work.
 Weary of mail order shoes May 17, 2010
I had to get shoe stretchers for these. The ridge around the top protruded inwards and pressed into my Achilles tendon so I had to rig up the stretcher to flatten it out. I wouldn't have got them if I'd tried them on first. Hopefully it will hold after awhile longer then it will be a decent shoe.

These shoes feel okay to wear. However, they fade and polish does not help. I ordered a pair from a different company because of that simple trait. But wait, there's more...at about six months of wearing these shoes to work, the soles began to separate. Ugh - never again Deer Stags. B'bye

A Review of Deer Stag Men's Times Shoes Apr 27, 2010
I have been using Deer Stag shoes, especially the "Times" model for ~20 years. They are both a good walking shoe and good looking dressier-than-most walking shoes. In addition, they require little or no break-in period, this is especially important to anyone who has sensitive feet. I'm a 79 year old male with tender feet and skin and I like to walk fast (3mph - 4 mph), so comfort is paramount for me.
One caveat: The country of manufacture can make a big difference. I have a black pair of Deer Stag "Times" manufactured in Brazil and they do not have adequate padding around the edge or under the tongue. Consequently, they irrate the skin just below the ankles and around the heel. I doubt that I'll be able to use them even with sole inserts which help a bit.
My comments in the first paragraph were about shoes manufacture in China and I would give them five stars. This is very surprising since I assume both countries are using the same specifications.
