Will not buy from this supplier again. May 05, 2010 This item shipped only two days from when I ordered it, and arrived two days earlier than the lowest estimate. So far, I thought great! I put my laptop in it (10.1'' Asus Eee PC T101MT-EU17-BK 10.1-Inch Convertible Tablet (Black), it fits very well) along with one textbook, power cord, sheet music, cigarettes+lighter, and cell phone.
After three days of walking between classes and taking it on the bus, the left-side D-ring wore completely through its canvas enclosure. I tried sewing it back under the remaining fabric, but my machine isn't robust enough. I'm going to buy another engineer's bag or similar (because I love the multitude of pockets and the design) but not this model, or from this seller. I advise everyone else to stay away from them too.
A great bag for the money Apr 27, 2010 Very versitile and the quality is fine. Just as well made as any 200.00 laptop bag.
I use it to drag my watercolor gear around in the field but it would work fine for back-and-forth
to work as well.
Great laptop bag Apr 26, 2010 I have gotten tons of compliments on this bag and many have asked where I got it. It carries my laptop great and has enough space for anything I would ever need. Great buy
Perfect for my use Apr 24, 2010 Just like the others said, this bag has lots more pockets than you think, initially. Perhaps too many, but then - it is an engineer's bag, so it depends on your use. I needed a bag to carry around all my daily stuff. I needed a bag, and preferrably a MANbag. So I looked for Jack Bauer bags - but ended up on this one. This is perfect for my needs. someone else mentioned they wouldn't recommend it for laptops - I don't know .. there is a sleeve that fits my netbook perfectly, and even though the bag doesn't have any extra padding - I do use it for this. Works great so far.
Quite honestly - I don't have anything negative to say about this bag. There is a label that says 100% cotton - and therefore I was afraid it would shrink if it got wet, but - that hasn't happened yet. Besides - it's not really 100% cotton, is it - there are zippers and hooks, and and a twistable button. These aren't cotton. Just .. a little "hehe" from me. ;)
It will work great for carrying tools... Apr 21, 2010 I purchased this bag as a replacement for a considerably smaller messenger bag. The multitude of pockets was a big attraction. However, this bag turned out to be much too large. Apparently I didn't pay close enough attention to the dimensions given in the listing, but the fact that it will hold a large laptop should have been an indicator. I'm 5'-10" tall. The bag is configured vertically. With the shoulder strap at stock length, it reaches almost to my knees.
I've only had it a few days, so I can't evaluate quality over time. It seems sturdy enough, but it is essentially rigid, making it somewhat uncomfortable to carry.
Delivery via USPS was amazingly fast. Given the concerns noted above though, I considered returning it for a refund. However, the company's return policy includes a possible restocking fee. That plus the cost of USPS shipping exceeded the original cost of the bag. My current plan is to wash the bag several times to soften it and use it as a tool bag. I've since ordered another, smaller bag with lots of compartments from another company for approximately the same price.
In my opinion the bag is okay if the buyer is very tall and doesn't mind being slapped on the leg with every step. Otherwise, look elsewhere.
