Not worth it Jul 19, 2010 I get a lot of sun in my bedroom. I had purchased these for my the 2 side windows of my bay window. Tried hanging one up. The problem is it doesn't really black out very well and the shade needs to be almost completely unfolded to reach the bottom of my window. I think I could have done just as good a job using construction paper.
Packaged it up and shipped it back to Amazon the next day.
Great to help cool off a room! Jul 13, 2010 My DIL & I each bought sets of these to help cut our electric bills. Went up very quickly and easily and cut the temperature in the house by a good 5+ degrees. I put mine under my white Levelor shades that were letting too much light & heat in. We're now buying a 3rd set.
Sleeper hit Jul 12, 2010 Perfect for an apartment. Attaches in seconds, completely darkens the room and easily cut to the size of the window. I have shades from IKEA but you have to drill holes plus lots of cords for the kid to get tangled in.
I was skeptical that this would darken the room and be functional, but if you need to keep out light and heat for a few years without fuss, this is absolutely the best product. Even if they fall down after one season, you can just use one of the other shades in the box. You can easily pin them up daily with even binder clips.
Before we used to get up at 6am, but with these shades up, the kid easily sleeps in til 9am.

Does the trick Jul 09, 2010 They darken the room but I would not purchase again. I thought they were blinds so you could open and shut them. If you want them open you have to use a paper clip or what were you can find.
Best blackout shades I could find Jun 14, 2010 Shades are true blackouts. Easy to cut; they offer a tool but I just used a standard utility knife. Easy to fold up or down and comes with clips. Only bad part is the adhesive did not last long ataching it to the top of the window frame. But with the cold of the winter then humidity of the summer I don't think any type of adhesive would work. I took four small wood screws with washers and fastened them to the inner top of the frame and they stay up there now, and the screws cannot be seen. Works great for the baby's room when napping.
